Multi-Language experiment: This page looks different than normal. We are trying to work out procedures to support having the Country KIA categories in the native language of the person's country. Currently the test case is France, so all the others are still in English for now. If testing is not successful, we will revert the page to the way it was.

This category is a intended to be used as a roll up category containing the categories from various wars/conflicts.

Individual profiles should only be assigned here if the <country>, <war> is unknown.

Depending on the country, profiles could also have other categories they can be added to as a result of being Killed in Action, for example, US personnel should be in the category for the Purple Heart, but documentation of some type should be noted in their biography to show it was actually awarded.

The strongest instinct, we humans, like almost all of nature, have is self preservation. We are to survive as long as we can manage. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen have that same instinct, yet, time after time, they are willing to deny themselves the right to their own lives for people they do not know, have never met, do not care, and most of which will never say thank you. That is why we here honor/honour all those who were killed while serving their respective nations engaging in hostile conflicts .
