Biography

Cécile was born about 1704 (48 years old in 1752).[1]

Listed at Pointe-à-la-Jeunesse, Isle Royale in 1752 as Cécile Nanson, aged 48 years, wife of Joseph Ébert, [2] She was the daughter of Pierre dit Pedro Melanson and Marie Blanchard. In 1701 the family was in Grand Pré (Les Mines), living next door to her grandparents[3]. In 1703 Grand Pré was not separated out and the family was listed in Les Mines area.[4] Again in 1707 Pierre was there with 6 daughters.[5]. In 1714 all of these Melansons were reported in Port Royal[6]

Cecile (15) married Charles Bourg (21) (born in Port Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France) in 1720 in Acadie.[1]

Their known children were:

  1. Charles Bourg (about 1721 – before Aug 9 1761) .
  2. Sylvian Bourg (about 1728 – unknown) [uncertain].
  3. Ambroise Bourg (about 1732 – before Jul 1788) .
  4. Marie Josephe Bourg (about 1733 – before 1761) .
  5. Anne Marguerite Josephe Bourg (about 1737 – unknown) .
  6. Francois Xavier Bourg (about 1739 – before Aug 29 1797)

Cecile (45) married Joseph Hebert (39) (born in Cobequit, Acadie) in 1750 in Acadie, Colony of Nova Scotia. [1]

Cécile passed away between 1757 and 1763.[1]
