Biography

Elnathan was born 20 October 1692 in Harwich, Massachusetts. He was the son of Ananias Wing and Hannah Tilton. The vital records entry for his birth states: Elnathan winge son to Ananias and hanah winge was born in October the 20 day 1692. ^[1][2]

Marriages

Elnathan was first married to Elizabeth Dillingham on 12 October 1721, in Harwich. The Vital Records entry reads: one October the 12 day 1721 Elnathan wing and Elezebeth dilingham both of harwich ware married by the Reverand mr Nathanell Stone.^[5] They had entered their intentions of marriage in Harwich on 24 June 1721. The record states: June 24 day 1721 Then Elnathan wing and Elezebeth Dilingham had their intention of marriage Entered and ware accordingly published.^[6]

His second marriage was to Hannah Allen. They entered their intentions of marriage in Harwich on 9 July 1726.^[7] The Rev. William Hewes of Chilmark, Martha's Vineyard, makes note in his diary that on Oct. 7, 1726, he married Elnathan Wing and Hannah Allen of Chilmark, [CI:1485:?4:CI].27

He was buried in Dillingham Cemetery, Brewster, Massachusetts. His Find A Grave memorial states that "The Owl" (June 1923, pp. 2297-8) reported that the graves of Elnathan, his wife Elizabeth, and their 8 day old daughter were found at the Dillingham Cemetery, but "today" (apparently referring to 2008) only the graves of their son Elnathan (age 3 days) and Elnathan's second wife, Hannah, could be found at the cemetery. ^[9]
