Good timing! I have just made a category for Ngati Ruanui, for Eriwata Pumipi. I'll add your tupuna as well, as he is there all on his lonesome. :o) Kei te pai about response, we do when we do. Hows your whakapapa search going?

Hi,

As you have been a member of WikiTree for about a week now I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the New Member How-To  been helpful or left you with any questions?

I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message.  Sometimes links don't work in emails.  If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Kia ora Danielle,

I have some Luke DNA matches, but have not had time to follow them up. One of my Iwi is Ngati Maru (Taranaki) and I'm partially Ngati Ruanui, you perhaps are part Ngati Ruanui, I know a few Lukes from there. Ngati Ruanui is East of Nga Ruahine, and Ngati Maru is North of Nga Ruahine. Uruteangina is an ancient name, there are at least four I know of, now I can say theres 5 ! :o) Let me know if I can help you with anything. Nga mihi.

Hello Danielle,

Welcome to WikiTree. By now you should have received an email with helpful links to get you started on adding your family to ours.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!

When you can't find information online, where do you start your offline research?

When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.

When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

Happy Hunting,

Jess
