Looks like you, Todd and I share 7th great grandparents: Frances Thornton 1683-1737 and Mary Taliferro 1685-1741. You descend from their daughter, Alice, and I from their daughter, Elizabeth. I am curious if you looked at the DNA match or if you just clicked "Relation to me" on wikitree? The fact we share 41 cm makes me think we are more closely related. Do you work with DNA much?

Actually I looked a bit closer and it appears we are probably IBS. When comparing at MyHeritage we match 41cm but at Gedmatch we only match 9.8

According to Family Search, your great-great-grandfather is the son of Charles Lamb, who is said to have been born in Germany around 1795, and Polly(maiden name unknown). I can't find any evidence he's related to the Lafeyette Lamb family. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/MXKP-9Y9
