Henry Edward Kerr (1879-1951) was the first New Zealand Olympic medal winner in 1908.

1908 was the only time Australia and New Zealand completed as Australasia in the Olympics.

Yes, we competed as Australasia, but NZ didn't compete independently until the 1920 Olympics in Antwerp. We actually also competed together as Australasia at the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm.
