hello cousin from The Byrd family branch, My Grandmother was Doris Stillwell Formerly Byrd. she was a firecracker of a woman. I often think about the people and environment that produced her, along with us all. It is neat to see the different branches that we became. Glad to see yet another branch.

While you’re there, you can read what others are working on and get to know us a little bit. Then join us on the Discord channel – we are a friendly bunch!

Also, please review our Reliable (and Unreliable) Sources for the Appalachia Project (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Appalachia_Project_Reliable_Sources) to help with sourcing our Profiles as you add or come across them. WikiTree requires valid sources on all Profiles and our Project has certain requirements for sources. Check the Appalachia Stickers Page (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Appalachia_Project_Stickers) for tips on adding stickers to profiles. In fact, you can add a team sticker to your own page!

Hi Laura,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This is a courtesy email to share the After Adopting Orphans FAQ which explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

The Global Cemeteries Project is currently undergoing our member check-in and wanted to verify that you are still active and interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Cemetery Teams? If not, is there a particular Team or area you are interested in participating with? I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google Groups for internal project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup for access feel free to submit a join request and we will get that approved as quick as possible. We also ask that members check their follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (CEMETERIES) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.

Last, but not least, we would like to thank you for all of your contributions to WikiTree and let you konw that any ideas or suggestions for improvement you may have for the Global Cemeteries Project would greatly appreciated!

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members at New Member How-To. Feel free to work through the How-Tos at your own pace.

Once you add profiles to WikiTree they become searchable and in my experience persons interested in these profiles will contact you and may provide further information to expand your family tree.
