My American history is both US and Canadian. I am looking forward to making connections back to the old countries of Scotland, Ireland, England, and the newly-connected Netherlands. I am planning to do the DNA test and will post results. In genealogy, everything is relative. Hope to connect soon!

Hello Suzette,

As you have been a member of WikiTree for a while now, I thought I would stop by to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the New Member How-To been helpful, or left you with any questions? Let me know if you need any tips to help you get more of your family members added.

I am here to help with any problems or concerns you may have. To contact me, log into WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment so that I will be notified. P.S. Please take your time. Finish one profile - adding locations (including countries), dates, and at least one real source - before moving to the next profile. And if you need help finding reliable information for your family members? The easiest way to find info and sources is to use the handy RootsSearch link on the right side of any profile. Use your WikiTree login to access over 20 websites. Once you find a correct source, copy and paste the citation info and add it to the profile. Learn more about sources here.

Hi Suzette!

Thank you for signing the Honor Code.

Thank you also for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree. It generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through, either accepting or rejecting all suggested matches. Once that has been done, you should see [add] buttons for each of the remaining names.

The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

For those using Chrome or Opera browsers, there is a tool that can help with the formatting of profiles which have been created through GEDCOM, so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, let me know. To contact me, please log in to WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment to be sure I will be notified. You can also click my name to send a private message, or post a comment, on my profile page.

Hi Suzette!

Thank you for upgrading. We are so happy to have you here in the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the !world together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration. Don't be afraid to ask questions in our G2G forum and get involved as much or as little as works for you. Be sure to check out the tabs at the very top right hand side of your profile, there is lots to discover!

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do!

Happy tree climbing

Rhonda ~ WikiTree Greeter
