I was born Peggie Dune Congdon. My name was later changed to Anne Dune Jelson. I was born in Michigan and currently live in Houston, TX. I have 4 children and 12 grandchildren. I graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen. I was a professional ballet dancer. Then I went to college and received a Bachelor's in Social science and later on a Master's Degree In Social Work. I also have a license as a Chemical and Addiction specialist. As a child I was never told who my real grandparents were on maternal side. Many years later as an adult I competed a DNA test and found about. 100 cousins. They are a wonderful family and they have accepted me and my family into their lives. Now I am hooked on genealogy. My Mother died young an was never able to have a DNA test.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
We are related through 2 different lines it seems.

I see that your DNA badge is there, and DNA connections is listed in the right hand column. That's great! So it seems that you are all sorted? If not, please don't hesitate to give me a shout.
I also only spotted your question here accidentally as part of my regular greeter duties, if you post a comment on your own profile only you will be notified. For someone to receive a notification you need to click the word "reply" just below their message, or you could send them a private message by clicking their name - which will take you to their profile page where you can click the words "send private message" next to their name where you usually find the name of the profile manager.
Kindest regards, Pam
I have tried to read more about doing the research. It's seems tough getting started. I have my Father's information but it is on another site. I am having trouble figuring out how to up load the information and and to paste replicate sources. Anne
We have an awesome research tool that makes finding reliable sources easier. I use it all the time and it helps me remember different places to check, also it can be a quick way to connect to profiles on a favorite site (I love familysearch.org). To give it a try, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research, scroll down near the bottom of that list, and select Research with RootsSearch (use your WikiTree email & password). There are over 20 websites to access from there. You can read more about the tool in the RootSearch FAQ. You can also find the tool at the very bottom of the right hand column just under the heading "research" on your open ancestor profiles, just click the words "RootsSearch for..."
Some websites, also have functions available for you to download a GEDcom (GEDCOM stands for GEnealogical Data COMmunication. It's a file format for transferring family tree information), a GEDcom is exported from another genealogy website or program and uploaded here at WikiTree, where you will need to compare your GEDcom to other profiles already on WikiTree. GEDcom's have a size limit - it's usually around 5000 people, which is a very large tree and I would suggest that you split your GEDcom into smaller chunks (here's an Ancestry page about splitting a GEDcom).
I hope this helps, if you get stuck at all please don't hesitate to let me know.
Kindest regards, Pam
I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.
It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point. Take your time, keep track of sources and ask questions. Check here for tips.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
Happy tree climbing

I may need some help. Do I need to upload my GED match account?
Thanks, Anne
Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree. Go to you WikiTree ID drop down menu (Congdon-1010) and choose DNA. That's where you can add your DNA results including your GEDMatch number.
Once you are ready to add family members, your next step after that should be upgrading your account to Family Member (it is free). There is a link on your profile under your name, next to “Guest Member” or use this link to upgrade. Just answer the five questions and click on the green box that says "Upgrade”.
