Hi Alun,

Wales Project Semi-Annual Check-In

Thank you for being a member of the Wales Project. You may recall membership requires at least one contribution to project goals during each 6-month period. A contribution includes creation of and modification to Wales related profiles.

Have you been able to contribute?

To all our active members, thank you for your work.

Please consider these questions:

- Do you desire to stay on your current project team(s)?

- Which teams are you most active in?

- Are there other teams you would like to join or become more active in?

- Also, do you have any feedback on what the project is doing well and anything we could do better in the future?

Please respond to this message by posting a reply in Comments below or sending me a private message. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Stuart Awbrey, Membership Coordinator

Hi Stuart, Still plugging away slowly. In the past 6 months I have created 2 profiles and biographies of Notables ( Glamorgan and Denbigh). I have plans to move on to a father-son combination of Notables who were giants in terms of cultural development in Wales in the early and mid-20th Century.

I've just loaded Sourcer and renewed an Ancestry subscription and as the days shorten further, will have a lot of work to clean up and add sources to the profiles for which I am manager.

It is recognized some members are active. Thank you for your work. (There is no viable method to determine which members have been active in the Wales Project.)

Hi Stuart,

Still plugging away slowly. Work to do on just my tree for sources and categories. One Notable bio done this past 6 months and 1 Historic building on the to-do list.

I still don't think I have the proficiency and effort that I see exhibited by the folk in the chat-room - I'm not sure I understand how they approach gaps and deficiencies.

Hi Alun,

Thank you so much for all your contributions to WikiTree in the last six months, and especially to the Wales Project. It’s been wonderful to have you as part of the team as we work together to increase the quality and quantity of Welsh Profiles.

I have you down as being on the Carmarthenshire, Denbighshire, and Merionethshire Teams. Is this right? How are things going? Do you have any questions? What can we do to support you? Would you like to change any of your teams? Do you want to continue in the Wales Project moving forwards?

Hope to see you on Discord soon, and I look forward to hearing back from you with all the above.

Thanks once again,

Olivia, Project Coordinator for Wales :-)

Hi again, Alun,

Thanks for joining WikiTree! As a mentor I'm here to help. If you have questions or problems with WikiTree, post a comment on my profile page or send a private message.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so look for duplicates before adding new profiles. Remember to add dates and locations. And if you have royal ancestors, contact the EuroAristo Project to see about connecting to pre-existing royal lines.

If you feel lost, start with How To Use WikiTree, and check out the Help Index.

  • Use the People: Search function to find existing profiles
  • Ask a Mentor Team member for help with a specific problem
  • Let me know if you have questions

Glad to have you here!

Interested in pursuing Family History in Wales - faced with very common grandparent names of Edwards, Williams, Jones and Davies.

Have names back to early 1820s as part of current efforts.
