Biography

Charles Pinet was a Canadian First Peoples and member of the Mi'kmaq Nation.

Charles "le jeune" Pinet (dit Petit Charles) was born between 1701 and 1703.[1]

He married Marie Louise Testard dit Paris, daughter of François Testard and Marie Doiron, about 1723 at Port Toulouse, Acadia.[2] Their children were:

  3. Joseph Pinet (~1728 - 1758)
  4. Marie Josephe Pinet (~1729 - )
  5. Pierre Pinet (~1730 - ~1792)
  6. Madeleine Pinet (1734 - )
  7. Madeleine Pinet (1737 - )
  8. Pierre Pinet (1740 - )

Charles was counted in the 1724 census at Port-Toulouse with a wife and 1 daughter.[3] His occupation was navigator, and he was born in Acadia. By the 1726 census, the couple had one girl and one boy.[4][5]

He died 3 May 1743, and was buried the next day, in Louisbourg, Acadia.[6][7] The age given on his burial record was about 50 years.
