Biography

Magdelaine Richard was born 21 Jan 1722. She was the daughter of Michel Richard and Marie Bourgeois. She was baptized the next day at Port Royal. Her godparents were Simon Leblanc and Magdelaine Bourgeois.[1][2]

  • Both records report Magdelaine Richard was born 21 Jan 1722 which differs from DGFA : Madeleine Richard was born on February 21, 1722. No corrections in "Ajouts et Corrections" for page 1391.[3]

Magdelaine Richard married Amand Hébert of the parish of Beaubassin, son of the late Jean Hébert and Magdelaine Dugas, on 12 February 1748 at Port Royal. Witnesses were René Richard, Alexandre Hebert, Simon Richard and Joseph Richard. There was a dispensation for 3-3 consanguinity. Magdelaine's father was also deceased by this date.[4]

She passed away before 12 Nov 1759, when her widower remarried Marie Poirier at Restigouche, Quebec.
