Hello

It’s time for a Project check-in!

Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.

What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?

This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.

Hi Donna,

No worries at all; real life always has to come first. Actually, it's time for the next Connect-a-Thon already. They just announced it today. If life has calmed down and you would like to join us, use the "Answer This Post" button on the Connect-a-Thon registration post. Be sure to tell them you will be with Team Cornbread Catchers.

Welcome to Team Cornbread Catchers, Donna. We have a GoogleGroup and text only GoogleHangout that we'll be using during the event, as well as the chat thread in G2G.

The Google Group and Hangout aren't required. If you would like to participate, please reply to this message via email or private message so that I will be able to send you an invitation. If you use different email addresses for Google and WikiTree, I'll need to know your Google email.

Go Team Cornbread Catchers!

Hi Donna,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week so I am checking in to see how it is going. The New Member How-Tos are for you to work at your own pace. If you had time to look, were they helpful?

I'm here to help with questions about how WikiTree works. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. I'll get back to you by the end of the day.

Debi ~ WikiGreeter

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.

PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.

Hi Donna,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Hi Donna —

You are now a confirmed member of the WikiTree community and can start adding your family.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members. See the links at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:New_Member_How-To

Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.

Cheers, Liz

Hi Donna, and thank you for volunteering!

Before I can confirm your membership, I’ll need you to add a little more information about your genealogical interests.

You can do this by editing your tags/comments, adding a couple of sentences to your biography, or posting a brief message in the public comments section of your profile page.

Once we know you are here to help grow the tree, a greeter will be happy to confirm your membership. If you have questions about WikiTree, please feel free to contact me via my profile page.

Thanks, David ~ WikiTree Greeter
