My Heritage, I use Ancestry the most. I can use all the help I can get since I am just a novice. Thank you, Shonie
I am stuck on my Hartley and Blake Lines. These are both my parent's surnames.
Nicodemus Hartley b. 1814 VA d. 17 Sept 1968 Jacksonville, Athens County. Ohio Randle Blake b. 1750 Montgomery County, North Carolina d. 1820 Chesterfield County, South Carolina
I am a novice genealogist. I love looking for ancestors, and finding them is such a fantastic feeling. I am the only one in my family genuinely interested in ancestry, so I want to find as much as possible to leave for my kids, especially my grandkids.
I live in Florida and am married to Steven, and we have two daughters and three grandkids.
I am a retired police officer and a current student at the University of Texas.
Besides my grandkids, I enjoy painting and photography, and, of course, ancestry.
I enjoy chatting with anyone with the same interest as me. I really want to find information on my maiden name Hartley and my mom's maiden name Blake.

I see you have added the tags for Choctaw, Native Americans and Oklahoma. As you research your Choctaw family, there are several WikiTree resources that may be helpful:

Dawes Rolls
Native Americans Project Reliable Sources

Don't hesitate to post questions in G2G using these same tags which will draw interest and comments from other WikiTree members.
Best wishes in your searching!

Thank you very much for the information, it is much appreciated. Looking for American Indian ancestors has proven to be difficult in the past. I am very happy I found this site.

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

We are so pleased you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
