Hi Dave, it's been eleven days since I asked if you are still interested in the US Civil War Project. I'd appreciate hearing from you.

I'll assume if I haven't heard from you in the next ten days that your interest in the project has changed, and I'll remove your badge.

Pam Kreutzer, Leader of the US Civil War Project.

Hi Dave, the US Civil War Project is conducting a Check-in for 2024 to see if your still interested/active in the Project.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. You can click the reply button or message me with your answer. Thank you. Pam Kreutzer, Leader of the US Civil War Project

Hi Dave,

the "Category:Germany" is a Top Level category, where individual profiles are not to be included. So please delete that category from your profile. If you want to show that you are of German descent, you can use the "German Roots Sticker" (replace the "" with {{}} ) instead.

Hi Dave, the category https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Global_War_on_Terrorism_Expeditionary_Medal_U.S._Department_of_Defense_2003_%E2%80%93_present is to be deleted, could you remove it from your profile please, many thanks, regards, Margaret, Categorization Project
We are deleting military awards now? Is it being replaced with something? Do I need to delete all of the award categories on all of my profiles?
posted by Dave Kaufmann
Hi Dave, no, military awards are not being deleted. The medal sticker adds a category and that needs to match the existing category for the award on WikiTree. The category waiting to be deleted was incorrectly named on the medal sticker so the sticker created the incorrect category. You are the only profile in that incorrect category, which is waiting to be deleted.

This is the correct category. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Global_War_on_Terrorism_Expeditionary_Medal

So if you change the parameter on your medal sticker to:

|medal=Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal

then you will be added to the correct category. you don't need to change or delete any other awards on any other profiles.

Kind regards, Margaret, Categorization project

Hello Dave

for SOME reason, I can't input MY OWN FATHER on my profile, because they say I am NOT on YOUR TRUSTED LIST. WHO the heck are you? How are you related to my DAD? Barbara Stacey Black

posted by Barbara (Stacey) Black
Sent you some private messages. Probably through marriage. I'm sure I created many profiles that you may be related to. Please respond to the messages or email me at dbk4492@ gmail.com

I am not sure if I got back to you, but somehow you straightened out the problem, because TODAY I was able to input my data for my dad. thank you. did you ever figure out how or why you put my dad's info on your data? Barbara Stacey Black

For any profile you wish to be on the trusted list, please request it through the website and I'll approve it. If you want to control it completely I'll remove myself after you are added to the profile. I have been working on multiple projects and have no problem with giving you the profiles of your parents, grandparents, etc.

thanks, have you put me on the trusted list so I can correct my family info.

i figured out why you have mother in your file her last husband was Harold Tuck. turns out, also, that my sons were friends of Doyle Stone's and I have known Barbara Ervin since we were kids. how are you related to the Tucks? Barbara

posted by Barbara (Stacey) Black
It's probably a connection through many marriages. I'm not certain anymore I have a hard time keeping track of names and

Links sometimes. Hopefully all the permissions have been fixed and you can edit and make the required changes and additions.

Hi Dave -thank you for being a member of the Jewish Roots Project! I wanted to let you know about some new things we have going on.

- You can see new tabs at the top of our home page, where you can select topics to view or work on. You can also use our new maintenance categories - feel free to add them to your own family, or any other Jewish Roots profile, or work on the maintenance yourself, such as adding new records to profiles with only a couple sources.

-I'm sending an invitation to join GoogleGroups, which we are re-starting this week. We'll probably do most group chat there, but the most important things will be posted on G2G, which you will be notified about if you follow the jewish_roots tag. -You can also join Wikitree's discord server, where we have a Jewish Roots chat channel.

-If you have ideas or suggestions for the project, feel free to reply here or send me a message.

Thank you! -Elaine, co-leader for Jewish Roots Project

Thanks for the project information.

Hi Dave,

I started to work on the German location categories. The is a Top Level category where personal profiles are not supposed to land. Looking at your family tree, I suggest that you change that to. That one is a category where profiles can land and it fits to your tree.

Yeah, I need lots of help with the German Ancestors there is little to no information I have on them in fact when I was searching for the Transatlantic shipping manifests I found one member who was traveling with other people with the same last name and not the first names of anyone I recognized. This I guess could be the Ellis Island game of we cant spell or say our name here is a new one.

Hi, it's been a couple of weeks since asking if you wished to remain in the US Civil War Between the States Project. I'd appreciate you letting me know by the end of February if you desire to remain in the Project. If I haven't heard from you by then, I'll assume you no longer wish to participate. I hope to hear from you soon, thank you.

Dave I'm sorry you've been sick, I hope your feeling a lot better now. I'll get your badge to you today, there are some new things on the project page you might want to review. Thank you for letting me know your still interested in the Project. Here's the link to the project page: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:US_Civil_War:_War_Between_the_States

Hi Dave, I just wanted to thank you for all the work you've done to improve the US Civil War Between the States Project. I'm doing a check-in with all project members and wanted to verify that you're still interested in being a member of the project. Also, any suggestions for the Project would be welcome. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Dave, thank you for your incredible work on so many amazing profiles! Can you either remove the African American Project category or replace it with the sticker (double brackets around African-American Sticker). This is a top level category only for subcategories, not for profiles. If you wonder which profiles you've added it to, you can check the category page here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:African-American_Project. Thanks! Emma (African American Project Leader)
I will double check the list and make the correction. I apologize for the error.

As part of a re-vitalization of the WikiTree US Presidents Project we are asking members if they are planning to continue their contributions to the project. We are establishing a page where everyone can identify the President or Vice President that they wish to manage. Just respond to this message to let me know 1) Are you planning to continue with the Project and 2) do you have a specific President or Vice President that you are interested in.

Dave, We have a Worldwide Disaster Project, that encompasses Natural and Man-made disasters. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Worldwide_Disasters and this space page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:One_World_Trade_Center.

Profile pages are for tributes about that person, not a memorial to all of the 911 victims. I would be honored to help with a free space page for a victims list and you can link the profiles to the list, should you want to.
