Biography

Born in Houma in Terrebonne Parish, I was an only child. I was the youngest grandchild on the Buquet side and the only grandchild on the Kraemer side. My Daddy was from Thibodaux and my Mama was from Terrebonne parish. We lived in the same property as my grandparents (Buquet) and my two aunts/ uncles/cousins. (Aunt Betty had a house in Houma for when they came from Westwego) I am unmarried and have no kids.

I went to school at Lisa Park Elementary, Houma Junior High, and graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1981. From there, I went to Nicholls State University, 1981-1986, B.A. & 1986-1989, M.Ed.

I worked in Assumption parish and then in Terrebonne parish from 1989-2012. I retired from teaching.

I am a dialysis patient from 2009-present. To be continued.

Hi Karin,

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.

Hi again,

I sent you a message a couple of weeks ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well!

If I don’t hear back from you by the end of April, I will assume you no longer wish to be a member of the Germany Project and I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Traci ~ Germany Project co-leader

Hi,

The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.

REMINDER: We use Google Groups for project collaboration and you aren’t yet a member of the group, please submit a join request here (make sure to add your name/WikiTree ID to the request).

Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi Karin

It has been a couple of weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Louisiana Families Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.

We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.

If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.

Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

Karen ~ Volunteer Coordinator

Hello Karen:

I had to take a break from genealogy. I caught Covid at the end of August and had to get back on my feet. I'm still interested in the Louisiana Families project. I am trying to get all the information on my Louisiana ancestors before I start searching again in Canada & Europe. I have to get by Babin, Bourgeois, Leboeuf, & Matherne ancestors in La straight. My Leboeuf ancestors, I believe came from Quebec. But I'm going to place my Acadia work on hold for a while. I am putting my Kraemer ancestors in Wiki tree as there are no records on the family. They came to La circa 1830. Looking for immigration record.

I haven't been able to return to the library records yet. Still have restrictions. Changed my email to Have a great evening. Karin Kreamer

Hi Karin,

I am sorry to hear you caught Covid, I hope that you have made a full recovery from it. I am no longer the Volunteer Coordinator for these projects, the leaders are doing these checks themselves now, so you will need to contact them directly regarding re-joining them. I am sure they will be pleased to have you back, it can take time getting all the information on people together, some records can be hard to locate, especially as most places you could visit to get them are closed, hopefully they will be able to reopen again soon

Also as we are a public site, anyone can see what is on your profile page, so would you remove your email address from the message please? We would hate you to get unwanted spam message.

Take care and keep yourself safe

Karen 🤗

Hi Karin

On behalf of the Louisiana Families Project, we are doing a periodic check-in with members. Please review the project page [1], and if you feel you are able and would like to contribute to the project in the upcoming months, please let me know by commenting on my profile or sending a private message. If you have other obligations or interests at the moment and would like to be removed from the project at this time, you will always be welcome to rejoin if you find yourself with more time and interest later.

All of us at WikiTree would like to thank you for your contributions and hope that you are enjoying exploring your roots.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I am just now seeing the message left on the page of Louis Dantin. I don’t know if you left this message prior to me adopting it but I would love to see and and all info you may have on him. I haven’t really dug deep into this line just yet. Thanks a million.
p.s. please send me a private message so that I can send you an invitation to the project's Google Group (sending me a private message will give me your e-mail address, which I need to send you an invite).

Welcome to the Louisiana Families project!

The project account has a handy set of links on it... I use it most to connect to the Google Group. It's also listed in Category:Louisiana Families Project along with other project members who have added the category to their profile (encouraged, but not a requirement).

Please stop by the project page - I've added your name to the members listed there, if you'd like to add to it. If not, you or I can delete it next week or so.

Cheers, Liz
