larkin allen born rutherford county is the baby brother of my gg grandfather William g allen born NC 1788. their brothers David was born 1796or 7 and james 1800. their father was David larkin allen was born 1765 in NC. .my DNA shows the line of this family but have not found proof of david larkin allen's father. some say drury allen of rutherford co. nc others robert samuel allen scborn 1734 va. and later moved to Sedgefield sc

I found a copy of Drury's will and it names no David nor Larkin in his will. According to his will, which lists children and grandchildren, his children were: Josiah, Clement, Stokes, Nancy, Martha, and Young Drury Allen. I wonder if Drewry (Drury) could have been the brother of David Larkin and their father was Robert? Drewry M Allen - BIRTH 01 DEC 1749 • Orange County, North Carolina Colony - DEATH 20 JAN 1826 • Pike County, Georgia, USA and David Larkin Allen - BIRTH 1765 • North Carolina Colony - DEATH 1858 • Cleveland County, North Carolina, USA. I'll keep digging!

Hi Mary,

I would be interested in working on the Province of South Carolina team, as my Huguenot ancestors came into Charleston in the 1600s. Thank you for all you do.

Kind regards, Kathy

Hi K,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up gedcom biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Hi K,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources).

Thank you for signing the Honor Code, Kathy.

I see that you have had your DNA tested, congratulations! Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to start with yourself and add sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. 24 hours later, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.

If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, use the reply link to let me know. Have fun!

Hi K!

I am pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration. Don't be afraid to ask questions in our G2G forum and get involved as much or as little as works for you. Be sure to check out the tabs at the very top right hand side of your profile, there is lots to discover!

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do!

Happy tree climbing
