Biography

Joan le Scrope was the daughter of Henry le Scrope[1][2] and Joan.[3][4][5] Her parents had lands in several counties, and her birth county is not known. Her birth date has been guesstimated as about 1340: her father was born in 1312;[6][7] her husband was said to be age 15 in 1353, pointing to his birth year being about 1338; and her son Henry was said to be 28 in 1386,[3] pointing to his birth year being about 1358.[4][5]

In about 1350 (when what appears to be a bond for their marriage was dated[3][8]) Joan married Henry FitzHugh,[1][2] who became Lord FitzHugh on the death of his father in 1352.[3][4][5] They had two sons:

Henry FitzHugh died on 29 August 1386.[3] Joan died in 1392.[1][4][5]

Research Notes

Eleanor who married Henry Bromflete, Baron Vescy

Whitaker's An History of Richmondshire also names a daughter, Eleanor, wife of Henry Bromflete, Baron Vescy.[1][9] Eleanor was a grandchild, the daughter of Joan and Henry's son Henry.[10][11]

Missing a generation here. She is not a daughter of the 1st Lord le Scrope. She is a daughter of his 5th son, Sir John le Scrope, Knt., of Hollinhall, &c. (d. Dec 1405) by his marriage to Elizabeth de Strathbogie.

John le Scrope's older brother Stephen was found to be 40 and more at his father's death in 1392 - Cokayne suggests Stephen was born in about 1345 (Complete Peerage, revised edition, Vol. XI, p. 564, viewable on Familysearch at https://www.familysearch.org/library/books/records/item/362755-redirection ). Joan married in about 1350 when a bond for her marriage was dated. Her son Henry was 28 in 1386. See the revised edition of Cokayne's Complete Peerage, Vol. V, p. 421, https://archive.org/details/CokayneG.E.TheCompletePeerageSecondEditionVolume5EAGO/page/n221/mode/2up This makes it a little difficult for John to be Joan's father.

from father's profile: * Joan le Scrope married Henry Fitz Hugh (born about 1338; died 1386)

(couldn't tell source; edited out as I was matching vitals to Richardson)
