Jan Emans, Emans-2, marries 2nd wife, Engeltje Laurens, Laurens-44, on March 4, 1701.

1st wife Sara Antonise Van Salee, Van_Salee-5, dies about 1710.

1st wife dies 9 years after Jan Emans marries 2nd wife?

Van Cleave-90 and Laurens-44 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest maternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge into the NNS PPP. No tree conflicts. Thanks! Confusion over the mother's second marriage.

The assumed daughter "Angelica" that married John Emans is actually this Engeltje, who married secondly to the elder John Emans. https://archive.org/stream/abstractswillso07kellgoog#page/n175/mode/2up John's son John/Johannes married Neeltje Craven. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~brouwergenealogydata/p471.htm#i122264

Edit: Found no other record of the "daughter" Angelica and the husbands given for her in Ancestry trees include John Emans, Volkert de Witt (husband of Annetje van Cleef), and none.

The date of the specific death (04 Feb 1700) is quite close to the date of marriage between John Emans and Angelica Van Clefe (04 Mar 1701) and suggests a leap to conclusion.

John Emans and Engeltje had no known children and all of the children mentioned in John's will are the children of Sara van Salee. Cornelia, who has been suggested to be the daughter of the couple, married Paulus Dircksz Ammerman in 1699, so she is the wrong age.

Since this person was born in the 17th century, the privacy setting on the profile should be changed to "open."

Van Cleave-90 and VanCleef-18 appear to represent the same person because: Same person - same father. Jan currently has forty-one children according to their profiles. Trying to clean up the mess.

Bless you, Philip! Now I can sleep, knowing that people with a direct interest will manage the problem. Each of us in WikiTree has areas of concentration, and I just have no extra time for this one--collaboration is good!
