Biography
Retired teacher, born in Louisiana, raised in New Mexico, a graduate of University of New Mexico and University of Texas, majoring in Spanish. Taught one year at the University of Puerto Rico. Moved to California in the mid 60s to pursue PhD at Stanford where I became a hippie and activist, no degree. Taught Spanish and French at a private middle and high school for over 20 years. Moved to the Salinas Valley where I was a bilingual reading and migrant education teacher until retirement. Interests have included backpacking, reading, films, art, music, birdwatching, independent travel (most extensively in Latin America), hymnology, political activism, Single. No children. Gay. Unitarian-Universalist.

It’s time for a Project check-in!
Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.
What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?
This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.
We'd love to have you join the Twisted Thistles in the upcoming Connect-a-thon the weekend of July 17 - July 20. If you'd like to join us and help to develop our ever-expanding Scottish tree, please register on the G2G post here and be sure to mention you'd like to be on the Twisted Thistles team for Scotland.

It is best to add your family and ancestors starting with you, spouse, children, siblings, your parents, grandparents and so on. I recommend you source each profile using the style and standard set by WikiTree as you add each profile. It is very hard to go back and source a lot of profiles if added at once. You will find the Help Index under the drop-down menu at the right top of all profiles.

I see you have not used the email sent to you to complete your account and profile set up by adding your tags and tag comments and volunteering.
The confirmation for WikiTree comes to you as an email, so you may need to check your inbox and spam folder. If you cannot find the email, a new confirmation email can be generated at E-mail confirmation problems.
The other option is to Click here to go to your Home Page to finish adding tags, tag comments and volunteering by clicking the add tags and volunteer button at the bottom of the page.
You can only work on your profile until you add tags, volunteer and are confirmed a full member.
