Biography
Descendant of several PGM migrants.
Currently focused on Gage line. John Gage, son of John Gage of West Firle, England, alit from the Arabella onto the shores of Massachusetts 1630. In the early 1800s, this branch headed to Southeastern Ohio, outside of Clarksburg, West Virginia. Great personal anecdotes begin for this branch with Joseph Haseltine Gage (b. 1815) and wife Mary Adliza Cook (b. 1814: “Grandmother was very large…”) in Myron A. Smith’s personal history. This is where my great grandmother — the last Gage in my line — grew up, as did my grandmother and her sibilings. Though her family stayed in the area, my grandmother left for Washington, D.C. after junior college and never looked back. She was one of the first with an office in the Pentagon (working for General Curtis LeMay).

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

The DNA Connections list on your profile will provide a visual way for you to find potential relatives on WikiTree who have also added their DNA test information. Using DNA tools at sites like GEDMatch.com, if you find a relative that matches your DNA sufficiently and you have genealogical sources for the intermediate relationships, you can mark the specific parental relationships back to the most recent ancestor that you both share as "confirmed with DNA." For details, guidance, and examples of how to properly document DNA confirmations, see DNA confirmation.
To find other potential relatives, continue adding sourced profiles for other lines until you can connect on all branches. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches that relate to the particular branches you are researching.
