Hi Martin,

It’s that time of year again! On behalf of the England Project, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve English profiles!

The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members periodically to make sure everything is going well. This is our formal annual check-in with you.

Are you happy with your current project team choices? Would you like to join any other teams?

Also, we would really like to hear which team is currently your highest priority. If you are a member of more than one team, could you please rank them from highest priority to lowest? Thank you! If you don’t see yourself as being part of a team, please let us know.

We also welcome any feedback on things you would like to see the project do more of in the future.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message.

On behalf of all the Leaders, thank you again for all you do and we look forward to you continuing to be a part of our collaborative and fun Project!

Kind regards,

Maddy, England Project Leader

Hi Maddy,

At the moment I am happy where I am, though my family researches seem to have taken me everywhere except Buckinghamshire. Soon I intend returning to Bucks as I have a book on the history of Wingrave, where my ancestors lived for several generations, and will use that as a starting point for other families in the village. As a personal "mini project" I am occasionally working on naval holders of the VC, something that greatly interests me an amateur naval historian. Recently, as part of this, I took on and beefed up the profile of William Peel VC, KCB, the fourth child of Robert Peel, the former Prime Minister.

Hi again Martin, thanks for getting back to me, and for all the work you have been doing, especially on those VC people, whose profiles deserve some tender care. I just noticed your connection to Woolston - I grew up near there. It’s a small world!

Best regards,

Maddy

I'd also like to share our annual Newsletter with you. You can read it here: England Project Newsletters. We hope you enjoy reading a bit about what has gone on in 2022 and what our Project has achieved.

The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members every 6 months just to make sure everything is going well. There's no need to reply to this message unless you have something you'd like to let us know about (e.g. if you would like to change your team choices or provide other feedback). We will be in touch with you again in the middle of next year when we do our annual check-in with project members.

On behalf of all the Leaders, I wish you a peaceful and productive 2023.

Hi Martin

I wrote to you recently as part of the England Project's six-monthly check-in with our project members. I haven't heard back from you. I hope you are well.

If you could please drop me a quick note to confirm whether you are still interested in the project and wish to remain an active member, that would be very helpful.

If we do not hear from you within the next 2 weeks, we will assume you are no longer active in the England Project and remove you from our list of project members. You would be most welcome to re-apply to join the project at a later time by signing-up on the project’s G2G welcome post.

Many thanks!

Joan, England Project Leader

Hi Joan,

Sorry about the delay in responding. Yes, I am still interested in being a member of the England Project. Recently family, work, holidays etc have taken precedence over WikiTree, as a result I have rarely logged on for the last month or so. Hopefully I will get more involved again in the early autumn. Hi Martin

The Connect A Thon was fun, we hope you enjoyed yourself and are recovering. Thank you for joining us, it is appreciated. Our combined score was 13,335 51 more than the last CAT so well done.

The total overall figure was 84,388 new profiles added and numerous connections made. The total figure was down 1,451 on the January Thon

Check your personal figures here - https://wikitree.sdms.si/Challenges/ConnectAThon/TeamAndUser.htm (gives you a target for the next event) Well done!

Thanks again for last weekend, we look forward to working with you again in 3 months.

Hi Martin!

I would like to thank you for all your contributions towards the goals of the England Project during the past six months. We've achieved a huge amount during this period and we couldn't have done it without you and our other project members.

As the England Project Leaders, we are completing our six monthly check-in with all project members.

How is the Orphan Trail going? Which team/s are you interested in becoming involved in once you finish the Trail? Also, do you have any feedback on what the project is doing well and anything we could do better in the future?

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message. I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks!

Hi, Martin!

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

I hope this helps! If you have any questions or problems, let me know.

Take care

Hi Martin,

Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.

It looks like the England Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hi Martin,

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful?

We have a research tool that makes finding reliable sources easier. I use it all the time and it helps me remember different places to check. To give it a try, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research, scroll down near the bottom of that list, and select Research with RootsSearch (use your WikiTree email & password). There are over 20 websites to access from there. You can read more about the tool in the RootsSearch FAQ.

Please do let me know if you have any questions about how WikiTree works, no matter how small. My rule of thumb when I started was to search for an answer for five minutes, then reach out to my Greeters, and then resume searching. I might have found the answer before they got back with me but they sometimes offered a different way of doing the same thing which was easier.

You can reach me by using the reply link for this comment or send a private message from my profile by clicking my name. See you in the branches,

Debi ~ WikiGreeter

P.S. Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? They also control the information which is included in the activity reports which you receive from WikiTree. You can add more, up to 20 total, or delete some if you are receiving irrelevant information.

Thank you for volunteering. You have successfully joined WikiTree.

Start with the pages https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:New_Member_How-To - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around:

Let me know if you require assistance. I am happy to help. After adding my own family and ancestors I have found many cousins and distant ancestors here on WikiTree.

Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile as the links will work from there.
