Biography

This profile is part of the Boudreau Name Study.

Judith was born around 1732 in Acadie. She was the daughter of François Boudrot and Jeanne Landry.

In 1752, a census of the Isle St-Jean was made by Sieur de la Roque and Judith and her family were enumerated and described. Francois Boudrot dit Manne, ploughman and fisherman, native of I'Acadie, aged 61 years, he has been 25 years in the country. Married to Jeanne Landry, native of I'Acadie. [1]

They have six children, three sons and three daughters: Joseph, aged 29 years ; Charles, aged 18 years ; Francois, aged 8 years ; Judith, aged 20 years ; Louise, aged 16 years ; Elisabeth, aged 10 years.
In live stock they have four oxen, four cows, three heifers, one mare, twenty ewes, twenty-seven fowls ; and one fishing boat. The land on which they are settled was given to them verbally by Messieurs de Pensens and Dubuisson. On it they have made a clearing for the sowing of eighty-six bushels of seed, and this year they have sown thirty-two bushels of wheat and six bushels of peas.

She married about 1757 Jacques dit Jacquot Chiasson dit Moyen. They are listed in the 1763 Letter to the King of France (Census) in A Tracadie on the Isle of St Jean. [2]
