Pierre Michau was born on 2 Feb 1681 and baptized on the 9th in Île-aux-Grues, registered in Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Secours, L'Islet, Canada, Nouvelle-France. His parents were Pierre Michaud and Marie Anne Ancelin. [Act states: Guillaume Lemieux and Jeanne Couillard are godparents by proxy - Baptized in Île-aux-Grues] The officiating priest was Thomas Morel.[1] He is the second child his parents named "Pierre". The first was born in 1672. His father, Pierre Michaud, emigrated from France to Nouvelle France (Quebec Canada) in 1656 and is progenitor of this Michaud line in North America.

Marriage
Pierre Michaud married Marie Madeleine Cadieu, daughter of Jean Charles Cadieu and the late Madeleine Neveu, on 20 Oct 1704 in Notre-Dame de Québec. In the presence of known witnesses Pierre Boucher, Pierre Levasseur, Joseph Marcoux, (?) Nepveu, Marie Nepveu, and (?) Gaillard. The celebrant priest was François Dupré.[2]

Pierre and his wife raised 11 children.

Death and Burial
Pierre Michaud passed away being given the age of around 78 years on the record, no death dated listed on act. His burial was on 18 Apr 1760 in Saint-Louis parish cemetery of Kamouraska. In the presence of known witnesses Alexandre Michaud, Pierre Desjardin, and Joseph Michaud. Priest was J. Trutaut. [Act states: "Buried under his bench" in the margin, it is written: "Pierre Michaud, de L'Islet du Portage" - Act not in chronological order; located between M 1760-06-23 and B 1760-07-19]. [3]
