Biography
Arien married 1 Grietje Pieters Vriend on May 3 1854 in Andijk. Children: Cornelis (1855, married Diuna Jans Vriend, moved to Alamosa Colorado, then Lynden Washington; had 15 children of which 5 were stillborn), Pietertje (1857, married her cousin Klaas Jansz Sluijs), Pieter (1858-1866), Elisabeth (Lijp, 1861; married Gerrit Simonsz Groot & Adrianus Jacobs Vijn), Geertje (1862, married Jacob Klaasz Tinkelenberg).
Arien married 2 Aaltje Pieters Trompetter from Opperdoes on Jan 6 1870 in Enkhuizen. Children: Trijntje (1870, married Jan Pietersz Baas), Neeltje (1872, married Jan Pietersz Kooiman), Aagje (1877, married Klaas Tuinman(, Gerritje (1880, married Jan Jacobs Mantel).
Arien's father Cornelis lived with him in Enkhuizen when he was too old to live on his own.
