Hi Debbie!

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The Mayflower Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

PS: I noticed that you are interested in connecting to Daniel Boone, you may also want to take a look at the Southern Pioneers Project.

Ginny ~ WikiTree Messenger

hello, Virginia.

Thank you for the greeting. I am taking it a bit slower and trying to absorb everything here on Wiki. It is an amazing site. I hope I'm starting off correctly. I will certainly reach out to you with questions at some point. My goal is to confirm several key ancestral lines. My pedigree includes links to Mayflower and MtDna to Royals of Europe. More locally, Daniel Boone is a direct descendant through a maternal Lindsey line. I have an extensive tree built at Ancestry but just starting here. What is the best way to confirm these ancestors? Do I need to continue to build the Wiki tree first?

Thank you again. Debbie Lindsey Kraft

Hi again, Debbie,

I appreciate your comment and it appears you are off to a very good start with your part of the tree. You are correct - just continue adding your ancestors until you reach a point where one or more of them already has a profile here on WikiTree. Then you can just connect your ancestor to that profile. For famous people like Daniel Boone you may find your ancestors already there a couple of generations before you reach him. For Mayflower descendants, the same scenario - most of them are already extended down at least a couple of generations.

Thanks for your careful work, we appreciate your additions to the tree.

Ginny - WikiTree Greeter

Hi Debbie,

You are now a Family Member and this will allow you to maintain and add profiles. Creating your family tree in Wikitree provides you the opportunity to connect and collaborate with other members.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members at New Member How-To. Feel free to work through the How-Tos at your own pace.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know. You can use the "reply" link under this comment or click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.
