Jonathan Burt I immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).
Deacon Jonathan Burt, born in England around 1625; appears to have had two or three marriages; was buried in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1715. [1] After the death of the older settlers, including his own father, he became prominent in town affairs. Was for many years Selectman and Town Clerk. He was also a Deacon in the church and appears to have been active in both church and town affairs.
