Joanne spends way too much time on WikiTree.

I was born in 1980, in Coventry, West Midlands, England, United Kingdom[1][2]. I am the 1st of 2 children born to Eric Holmes, a Postman, and Susan (Quantrill) Holmes.

I have never married or had children. I do, however, have 7 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels known as the Sky Blue Cavaliers.

Geneology

I have been researching my family tree since approx. 2009 using Ancestry, Find My Past and RootsMagic. I recently found WikiTree, completed the Orphan Trail 1 and took part in my first challenge the 2021 Spring Clean-a-Thon. I am really enjoying not only working on my own tree but working on the global tree and being part of something bigger.

Hello Joanne,

Please consider joining the Holmes Name Study. I would love to have a Holmes from England helping with the project. If you want to learn more about your deep ancestral Holmes genealogy then I recommend having a male Holmes in your family test their y-chromosome or y-dna. I used FamilyTreeDNA and am very happy with their service.

Hi Joanne.

Thank you for all the work that you have done for the England Project. As you have not responded to our recent check in I presume that you wish to leave the project. I hope that you will want to re-join us sometime in the future. You can do this by responding to our G2G post. https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1350343/do-you-want-to-become-an-england-project-member-in-2022

Regards Joan

Hi Joanne,

I wrote to you recently as part of the England Project's six-monthly check-in with our project members. I haven't heard back from you. I hope you are well.

If you could please drop me a quick note to confirm whether you are still interested in the project and wish to remain an active member, that would be very helpful.

If we do not hear from you within the next 2 weeks, we will assume you are no longer active in the England Project and remove you from our list of project members. You would be most welcome to re-apply to join the project at a later time by signing-up on the project’s G2G welcome post.

Many thanks!

Joan, England Project Leader

Hi joanne

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand this Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Hello, My 8th great grandmother is Susannah Holmes (about July 1742 - 17 July 1782) the daughter of John Holmes (bef 6 February 1713 - unknown) & Elisabeth Stanford (bef 21 Jan 1711 - unknown). John Holmes was born 1713 in Allesley, Warwickshire to an Edward Holmes who I suspect might be connected to your Holmes. Here's a link: Edward Holmes (bef.1693-).

My 5th great grandmother was Ann Worcester, through whom I have strong ties to the Midlands. Here is a link to her compact tree, if you are interested: https://www.wikitree.com/treewidget/Worcester-162/5

You have added Clara Horlock as a wife to Herbert John Gooch my great grandfather. What is your evidence for this?

I didn’t add a wife, I corrected the place name as part of the Spring Clean-a-Thon.

Hi Joanne

Just checking in with you to see how it is going, I hope you found the   https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:New_Member_How-To   and links useful. We want to help you learn about the site and the community, so if or when you have questions, ask in our G2G forum https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/  or click REPLY below this message, to ask me

If you click your green tags it will show you member's who are also following that tag, if clicking the tag shows just your name then it may be circular and need to be done again.  Just use surnames or place names, no first names, you can have 20 tags. I notice you have no tags I would suggest you add one for your surname

HOLMES

Also, add tags for your mother and grandmother's maiden surnames to widen the connections into the community   You can also add tags for locations or interests - explore the project link for these.

Tags link you to the community sourcing & research options, to add more tags (you can have 20) go to  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following - You can find more information about tags here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags

Have a look and explore https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Projects  to see which project might be helpful for your research
