I am a descendent of Jean Plante who emigrated from Larochelle in France to Quebec in the 1640's. He married Francoise Boucher, daughter of Marin Boucher in Quebec City in 1650. The couple made their home in Chateau Richer in Quebec. When Jean Plante died he had 117 grandchildren.

My great-grandfather, Louis Plante (married to Philomene Morency) left Quebec in the late 1800's and settled first in Uxbridge MA. His son, my grandfather, Adelard Plante married Philomene Morency (born in Sorel, Quebec) in 1901. Eventually the family moved from Uxbridge, MA to Woonsocket, RI where my father, Frederic(k) Robert Plante was born in 1918. He married Dolores Anne Lizotte (Daughter of Edouard Lizotte and Lumina Lefebvre) in 1946 after returning from China where he served at the end of WW II.
