She married Claude Dugas, an armorer, around 1673.[1] Claude was about 24 years of age at the time, and Françoise about 14. They had 12 children between about 1674 and 1692[1] :

They owned 1 gun and lived on 8 arpents of cultivable land with 25 cattle, 9 sheep, and 11 hogs.[3]

In 1693, at Port Royal, Francoise BOURGEOIS, aged 34, was living with her husband, Claude, aged 44, and their 11 children: Marie, aged 17, Claude, aged 16, Francoise, aged 14, Joseph, aged 13, Marguerite, aged 11, Anne, aged 10, Jeanne, aged 9, Agnes, aged 7, Francois, aged 5, Madeleine, aged 4, and Cecile, aged 1. She was living in the household of her husband's parents, Abraham DUGAS, aged 74, and Marguerite DOUCET, aged 66. The family owned 4 guns and was living on 26 arpents of cultivable land with 20 cattle, 30 sheep, and 15 pigs.[4]

Françoise died before 1697 since Claude remarried around that year, and she was not enumerated in the 1698 census of Port-Royal.[1][5]
