Louis was born around 1727.[1] He was the eldest child of Pierre Haché and Cécile Lavergne.

He was recorded in the 1734 census at Port-Lajoie, at age 8. [2]

He was listed again at age 25 in the 1752 census at Rivière du Nord-Est, south side with his widowed father and his 7 siblings.[3]

The following year, on 8 January 1753, he married Anne-Marie Chiasson, daughter of François Chiasson and Anne Doucet, at Saint-Pierre-du-Nord, Isle Saint-Jean. [4] The witnesses were Sieur Claude Antoine Duplessis surgeon major, Honoré Bourgeois, and François Chiasson.

"The years between 1749 and 1758 were very difficult ones on the Island for the Acadian refugees as well for the older settlers. Various disasters destroyed the crops, cattle was lost through sickness and lack of fodder, and seeds were difficult to obtain. The colony was most often on the brink of famine." [6]

"The Acadian's hope of living peacefully on Isle Saint-Jean was soon shattered. In the summer of 1758, the fortress of Louisbourg on Isle Royale was attacked by British troops. The French capitulated thereby forfeiting Ile Saint-Jean as well. Soldiers were sent to the Island with orders to deport the inhabitants to France. Some 3000 Islanders were successfully rounded up and crowded on ships that set sail for Europe later in the fall. For the Acadians, it was disaster.1500 of them managed to escape deportation by fleeing to the Bay of Chaleurs region and to Quebec where many died of sickness and hunger. Of those deported to France, more that half drowned or died by disease and illness during the voyage and many others died in the months following their arrival in France."[6]

Louis and Anne were among the families that fled to the Baie des Chaleurs. They were in the Restigouche area in New Brunswick in 1761 since their son François-Xavier was christened there.

By 1763 Louis and Anne were back on Isle Saint-Jean, since they were on a list of Acadians residing on the island. They were one of the five households at Moulin à Vent.[7] Louis' aunt Geneviève Lavergne (La veuve Charles Gallant) as well as well as Anne's brother Joseph Chiasson were also living there.[8]

The families living at Moulin à Vent dit not stay there long. By 1765 they had all moved to Havre-Saint-Pierre. Louis and Anne later went to Shippagan where Anne died in 1814. "Three of their sons settled there while five others returned to Isle Saint-Jean to live at Rustico and Baie de Malpèque."[7] Those three sons were Joseph, Jean-Baptiste and Louis.[9]

Les familles de Caraquet, Fidèle Thériault -- noted under Joseph Chiasson that his sister Anne married Louis Haché and that he was one of the pioneers of Lamèque.[citation needed]

Louis passed away around 1788 in Shippagan. [citation needed]
