Edmund Poley is a descendant of Magna Carta surety baron Saher de Quincy (see text below).

Biography

Edmund Poley, Gent., born about 1486, was the son and heir of Henry Poley of Badley, Suffolk, England and Constance Geddyng.^[1][2]

He married Mirabel Garneys who was the daughter of John Garneys of Kenton, Suffolk, England.^[1][2][3] The date of their marriage is unknown and is estimated. They had five sons and eight daughters:^[1][2]

Edmund Poley died on 31 December 1548, leaving a will in which he requested burial in Badley, Suffolk. His will was proved on 23 May 1549.^[1][2]
