Hello Suzan,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

I received your comment about Rebecca Eldridge, daughter of Giles Eldridge and Elizabeth Aldworth. There is also a record of a Rebecca Starke with the same parents. Both were born in 1617 in Olney, Yorkshire, England and both died in 1680 in Massachusetts (New Hampshire was part of Ma until after the Revolution.) Records also show that both were married to Thomas Smith in Romsey Hampshire, England on 15 Oct 1632. Source citation: Romsey, Hampshire, England 1621-1669 Film number 1041215.

Hi Susan, thanks for getting back to me. Please could you send me a private message, as it is easier to communicate by private message in this situation :) Kind regards, Gillian

Hi Suzan,

Please get in touch with me so we can discuss pre-1700 profiles and sourcing.

Darlene ~ Wikitree Mentor

Darlene, I hope this gets to you. This is the 3rd time I have tried to respond to your requests. I have limited access to a computer so I was responding to your messages that arrived on my Kindle, since my email is hooked to it.

I've sent three emails as well as posting. Please reply to my latest email sent earlier today. You'll need to have internet access for us to discuss. Thank you.
computer access on weekends and weekends is difficult because my daughter and son-in-law use them to play games. While I could get access tehn it is difficult, During the week is easier since I can get on it as i choose. The middle of the day is probably best for me. So let me know when you want me. I am in Southern California so middle of the day would probably about 1pm.

Please respond to one of my emails. It doesn't matter the time of day or week. Our communication will be via back and forth emails. Thanks.
If I don't need to be ready at a particular time, that would be great and easier since I will not have to worry about access to computers

Suzan, you need to respond to my email . . .
I am trying but I am not certain if you are getting them

I have no responses from you for any of my emails. You can go to my profile and send me a private message if you'd like. Check your spam folder for emails if need be.
After 4 attempts to respond to you, it looks like one finally got through, I do not know why the others did not get through. I got all your messages and i did answer them. None of yours reached my spam folder, which I empty every day.

You obviously have an issue with your email. As you know, I did receive your email and responded. I am waiting for you to respond. Please do not continue to contact me here on your profile. All future correspondence needs to be via email.
Hi Suzan,

You recently added Nicholas Smith and Dorothy Horsey as parents to Thomas Smith-2745. What is your source for that information?

When you add relationships, quality source documentation for them is required - especially for pre-1700 profiles.

Also, please be sure to add locations to at least a birth or death field. It is very hard to research further details on profiles without at least one place name - preferably birth, death, marriage would all have place names.

Related to this, please review https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles regarding the level of sourcing required for pre-1700 profiles. Thanks so much.

Hi Suzan,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need.

Thanks Suzan for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz

As Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within a project coordinating them is essential. Please ensure location data matches dates of profile, avoid abbreviations, add sources with citations & links for sources to support the data. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources

The United States  Project would be of interest. Adding the tag UNITED_STATES will connect you

Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic please read the goals & tasks of the project
