Happy to help, give me a shout. FYI, there are plenty of mistakes or missing information from my profiles. I have evolved as a genealogist since my beginning on WikiTree. That means my early mistakes are still here but together we have been making them better over time.

Hi Michael. How are you? I would like to pickup the Bristol project you started. Let's chat about that. Hope you are doing well and will come back to Bristol soon.
Thank you Michael for your quick response. I appreciate your advice and your asssist on Abraham’s death record. I will work to incorporate your suggestions into my tree. There were a great many Parrishes who passed through or settled in northeastern Ohio, Jefferson, Harrison, Tuscarawas and Belmont in particular. There even was a Parrish who was a contemporary of Abraham who lived across the river from Uhrichsville in Dennison, but there was no connection. I’m aware of the other Parrish in Harrison County who married Mary Kent, but records are clear that Abraham W, met and married Rachel Keesey in Cadiz. There are three contenders for Abraham’s birthplace: Steubenville, Jefferson, Ohio from his death certificate, England from his daughter Ida’s death certificate and Virginia from the changes in census data late in his life that you mentioned. There are many family trees that have Abraham being born in Goochland County, VA. Have contacted the owners of several of these trees asking what is their documentation, but none were able to provide it. If anyone reads this and has documentation, please contact me. Thank you again for your help, Michael!

Thanks Michael for your comments on my G2G question re: Martin Culp and possible bro John both b PA early 1820's. I am currently going through comparing my GEDmatch to any and all Culp/Kolb I can find and did the same with your DNA result. I was looking for solid blue matches, but have seen blocks of green with the Balthasar group, meaning base pairs with full match. Are you familiar with the color differences at Gedmatch and their meanings? So far, all I have considered as a match are the blocks of blue...is that correct? Do you know?
posted by Cindi Bonney
Hi Cindi,

I am not very adept with Gedmatch. I have not had the time to develop the expertise so I do not know the color coding definitions.

I am not Y-DNA Culp descendent. Alonzo Culp's father is believed to be a Watt. So no Y-DNA is passed down to me from the Culp line. So I have to rely upon Autosomal DNA through his mother. Since she only had one child who lived to have children (Alonzo) all the helpful matches will have to be with his mother's (Nancy Jane Culp) siblings and her father (Adam Culp) and his siblings. After that we are looking at Baltzer himself with some suggesting he had a brother Augustus who came to the USA but I have not seen any evidence for that.

It appears that there have been some autosomal DNA matches with others belonging to PA, Culps and Dielman Kolb. If so, those connections are likely above Baltzer and back in Germany.

I hope this helps somewhat.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond...so far, I have not had any luck with my autosomal DNA results. But it does help knowing what you are looking for and how you are going about it.

Michael - It appears that you made Love-302 a project protected profile back in 2015, apparently in connection with the 1776 Project. However, no project is currently managing the profile. Can you please either add the project as manager or take away the project protection? Someone posted a G2G post about it: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1176232/citations-keep-taking-back-private-tree-page-longer-available

Hi Chase, I am not sure if I replied to this or if it got resolved. I am no longer a leader and thus do not have access to make the suggested changes. Did it get resolved appropriately? If not, kick it up to the Military and War project leaders, they can decide where it belongs.

Thank you for the alert about the new material on Richard Hide! I saw the notice in the NEHGS weekly email about the Richard Hide entry in the Early New England Families collection, but I did not remember that this was ancestor of mine, much less that I had adopted his minimal profile.
