G2G: This Francis R Foster is NOT my Great-Grandfather, what do I do now?

I had no Idea that the Frank R Foster and my Grandfather, Frank R Foster, were different people.  When I found a discrepancy in the birthdates I still thought they were the same people, and he had another life before.I then was messaged and found that I had a Cousin and she said that she found me because my Great-grandparents were the same as hers and they were on her tree, but later as she investigated, she found the error and notified me. Both Francis R Fosters, according to her, lived in th same town and the mistake was made.  Ok through this " GGF, I was related to a few passengers on the Mayflower and I had a bunch of family who fought in the Revolutionary War, no mnore, I can't even find this GGF's parents so now I have hit a brick wall on both sides of myu family.  I need to know how I remove this "non GGF" because with him, I lose most of my tree on that side.  I am at a lose as what to do and how to do it.  I have been ill and in and out of the hospital and I rarely have the time or the energy to get on Wikitree or any other site.  Thanking God that I have slightly more energy since yesterday and trying to rectify this situation.  Thank you so much and if there is an answer that you have for me, could you email me as that is how I see my mail  My email address is, carolmariev11@gmail.com  Thank you, Carol

You should remove your email address in accordance with WikiTree policy.

When you open the profile for editing, there is a link to add/remove connections. If you remove him and his spouse, if applicable, then they will be disconnected from your tree.

You can then create a new profile with the correct GGF. All the other profiles connected to the GGF you disconnect will remain in place. If there are other brothers or people that need to be moved to your new GGF, they can be connected once you complete a profile for your GGF.

Thank you very much for that information.  I am so wikitree illiterate it's pathetic but I do not get to be on the site very often.

Again, Thanks, Carol
