European Aristocracy
Edward Knollys was a member of the aristocracy in England.

Biography

Edward Knollys was recorded in his father's Latin Dictionary as being born on "anno dommini 1546, ye tewsday present beyng Saynt Lukes Even." [1] St Luke's feast day is celebrated on October 18th. [2]

Edward was educated at Eton in 1560 and then matriculated to Magdalen College, Oxford. [3]

Probably as a result of his father's influence Edward was returned to Parliament as a member for Rotherfield Greys. [3]

He died in Ireland, probably in the service of his sister’s first husband, the 1st Earl of Essex, Walter Devereux. His brother Francis succeeded him in the Parliament, the writ being dated 24 Dec. 1575. [3]
