Biography
Birth
Philippus Johannes was born on the 2nd of September, 1913, in Utrecht, and he was a son of Antonie Cornelis de Nijs and Odilia Fritz[1].
The translation of his birth certificate reads as follows:
On this third day of September, nineteen hundred and thirteen, we, the undersigned Registrar of the Civil Registry of the city of Utrecht, appeared in the House of the Municipality:
Antonie Cornelis de Nijs, cleaner, forty-one years of age, residing in Johannes Camphuijstraat, who declared to us, that on the second day of this month at eleven o'clock in the morning his lawful wife Odilia Fritz, without profession, gave birth at his residence to a child of the male gender, to whom the first names Philippus Johannes shall be given.
This declaration was made in the presence of Willem Frederik Hennevelt, aged fifty years, and Carl Furchtegott Bles, aged forty-two years, messengers, both living here, of which we have taken up this deed and read it to the declarant and the witnesses, who have signed with us.
Death
He passed away on the 14th of February, 1914, in Utrecht, at the age of 5 months[2].

On this day the sixteenth day of February, nineteen hundred and fourteen, we, the undersigned Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages of the city of Utrecht, have appeared in the house of the municipality:
Willem Johannes Oudegeest, groeftidden (?), age seventy-four years and Carl Furchtegott Bles, messenger, age forty-three years, both residing here, who declared to us that on the fourteenth and first day of this month, at noon, in the age of five months, died here:
Philippus Johannes de Nijs, born in Utrecht, son of Antonie Cornelis de Nijs, cleaner, and of Odilia Fritz, without profession, both living in Johannes Camphuijsstraat.
