At least one source establishes that John and Elizabeth (Cosby) Minor had a son William, who in turn had the grandson, Warner Washington Minor,[1] whose wife was Maria Timberlake.[2] Someone on FamilySearch attributes the marriage of Warner and Maria to 1819, which makes more sense, given that their first child is attributed with an 1820 birth. The FamilySearch citation[2] says 1849, but the citation is unindexed and includes three "volumes" of record (360 pages), much of which is in cursive or poorly reproduced (or both).
It would bring us one step closer to establishing the paternity of Virginia Louisa Minor (1824-1894) LHJX-3S6, who was a Missouri suffragist and American Civil War relief worker, if we can validate that her parents in fact married in 1819.
Anyone up for perusing the Virginia records in source [2]?
Many thanks in advance!
