G2G: Cpl. Lloyd C Washburn (1841 - 1916) 106th New York Co. C. “Captured In Action”

Question

We need collaboration in finding what P.O.W. Camp he was taken to. We do have some clues as his military service records “captured in action, October 19, 1864, at Cedar Creek, Va . ; paroled, March 4, 1865, at North East Bridge, N. C.; mustered out, June 13, 1865, at Annapolis, Md.”

Needs connecting and sourcing maybe he has an obit?

The New York, U.S., Town Clerk's Reports of Men Who Served in the Civil War, ca. 1861-1865, says that he was in Libby Prison in Richmond, Virginia.

Here is an article about honoring the Civil War dead on June 1, 1916, from The Columbus Weekly Advocate, which says that he had died in the last year:

The website of the Cherokee County Kansas Genealogical-Society mentions an obituary for Lloyd Chesley Washburn with a birth date of September 15, 1844, and a death date of February 12, 1916:

Just updated that comment with a date of death.

It may be cheap land that was the draw to Cherokee County.  My Coon relatives (also originally out of New York) were in that county in the same period and the motivation according to family tradition was cheap land.

Based on the birth date he would of been about 17 not 21. I’m sure a story to that detail
