Question

Project: Military and War is an umbrella project with the following sub-projects. Note that two projects have their own join thread as well, marked [G2G Post] next to the name.

If you would like to join any of these projects with goals to add/improve the profiles of persons who served their country, Please ANSWER (do not comment) to this post in order to join below telling us which sub-project(s) you would like to join. You are also asked to join the Google Group, as mentioned on the Project Page, in order to get communication from us.

Interested in VietNam War. My late husband was an Army tanker in VietNam 1970-1971.

He passed from GBM brain cancer in 2011. My FB group helps widows file their DIC claims with VA.

My husband for 40 years suffered from hearing loss and PTSD.

Military and War requires a minimum of 100 contributions.   I suggest you add more Ancestors and sources.  Soon as you reach 100, you  Answer this post with an ANSWER again.  Then I can  award a badge for you.

Hello,

I'm interested in joining. My dad was in Vietnam, 2 grandfathers in WW2, my grandfather's brother lost in WW2, and direct ties to Daughters of the American Revolution.

Many of my ancestors have participated in the Great War.  As a result I would like to honor them for their service by adding their name and information to the Great War 1914-1918.

Hi Vincent Ettore Fiordalisi-20. Private Vincent profile does have the WW2 sticker but he was also award the Silver Star and the Purple Heart for saving a French village . He died on Dec 8 1944. I would love to place a Sliver Star  and  Purple Heart stickers on his profile.

Joseph Fiordalisi-19 serviced during WW2 in the US Army for 2 yr and 2 months before getting wounded by a artillery fragment shell in 1944.

 Orland- Cocco -71serviced in the US Marine Corps from 1942-1951.

William A Leppla-39 was in the Vietnam  war. Marine Corps
Thomas Leppla -40 in the Marine Corps as a JAG. He is serving now at Camp Leseune, NC.

I need stickers for all these men who are and were in the US Military.

Very interested in joining this project. As an ex Royal Naval Submariner I am obviously interested in the British Royal Navy. I see that there are a lot of newish ships and submarines missing from categories (some of which I served on).

Please add me as a member of the Vietnam War sub-project. I am currently adding profiles of Marines and Corpsmen who served with the 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment in Vietnam and are listed on the National Vietnam War Memorial. There are 566 names listed and I have added 20+ so far this month. Will take a few months but am chewing the elephant up one bite at a time.

This is the unit that I served with from Oct.-1966/Dec. 1967.

You have the Military and War Badge.  This covers wars that do not have badges such as French and  Indian War, Spanish American War, Mexican American War, War of 1812, WW II, VIETNAM War, Korean Conflict, Afghanistan, Iraq.  You are covered for Vietnam..

I am interested in joining this project, with particular interest in the Second Seminole War and Mexican-American War.

I have written several publications, in addition, compiled records for those who have served in these conflicts for roughly eight years; worked closely with the U.S. Army Center of Military History and the U.S. Marine Corps History Division, as well as have several family members who served in both wars.

Hello!  Sub-projects I would like to join are: Roll of Honor, The Great War, World War II, French and Indian War, 1776 project (will join via G2G post), War of 1812 and I have already joined the US Civil war project.

I also have a few ancestors that belonged to the Canadian Militia Regiments in the 1830's (I am unsure if this is a project).

Also, my husbands grandmother was a member of The Wrens during WW II.
