G2G: Case Family - Auburn, NY - ca 1860’s

Found an old photo on an internet auction site and was wondering if anyone has information on the subject family.

Scratched on the back of the case is “Case” and “Auburn, NY”

It looks to be 1860’s and the census documents for that time have an Abraham, Charles (Almira), James, Theodore (Fannie), Oliver, Valney Case as heads of households in Auburn, Cayuga Co., NY.

Hope this helps someone and would love to solve the mystery. I will continue searching. Cheers!

Great photo, George. You are probably familiar with Theodore Willard Case, born and raised in Auburn, New York. He is widely considered to be the father of sound film. Much information on his life (born 1888) and work is available at the Cayuga Museum and Case Research Lab. His father was Willard Case.
