Upon further research, I found that Leonadis had a sister, Nellie Stout who lived in  Colorado Springs.  I am surmising that he may have died during his visit with her.

I know he is of the family of RB Stout, because on the "find a grave" info is his wife's name, Jennie (Matilda) Reynolds.
