Enlisted in CT and served from July 10 to December 1775 as a private in the Revolutionary War under Capt Charles Ellsworth 5th Company 8th Regiment Spencer's Brigade. He later served in Cap't Daniel Chandlers Company. He was called, " Colonel" I have found no evidence he achieved the rank.
