Hi Everyone. After appropriately merging a duplicate record, and wanting to update the sources afterwards, I have found myself sorting out a family conflated across several generations (all unmanaged profiles). I am slowly working my way through it, providing sources as I go, but my question at the moment is, that I have traced the life of John Billington b 1853 in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, who married and had children in Pontypridd in Wales. The profile of the son who has further linkages back to a living family member (Nicholas Morgan Billington) is correct. However there is a mix of other children also attached to the father, who aren't correct. As there were 8 correct children of John Billington and the intention of the original uploader was to document the family of John's son Nicholas Morgan Billington, is it ok to change the names and birth details of the other children's profiles to reflect the correct family? That would be my preference if its the way to go. The other children don't seem to belong to a coherent family, being born from as far afield Pennsylvania in the USA and Southport and Wigan in Lancashire UK. All John's real children were born in Pontypridd in Wales.
Thanks. Gillian
