G2G: The wife of John Billington and Gregory Armstrong.

Question

The wife of John Billington, who with John was a Mayflower Passenger, later married Gregory Armsrtong. Typically no record remains of her maiden name. She has been called Newton, Longland, Lockwood, but none of these are proven. Both the Mayflower Society and Anderson call her Elinor ____.

There is a possibility that she is related in some way to Francis Longland, gentleman, of Lincolnshire. Francis Billington and Francis Newton were named his heirs. It is possible that Francis Billington and Francis Newton may have been the nephews of Francis Longland, making Elinor Mr. Longland's sister, however, there is no proof.

Are there objections, or thoughts, or arguments regarding changing her Last name to Unknown by merging her with Unknown-422814?

John Billington married Elinor Lockwood in England. They had two sons. After John’s death, Elinor married Gregory Armstrong in September 1638. Elinor died after March 2, 1642/3. Gregory Armstrong died in Plymouth on November 5, 1650.

That's interesting Frank. The source that Wikipedia gives for that statement is -- Robert Charles Anderson, Pilgrim Village Family Sketch: John Billington (a collaboration between American Ancestors and New England Historic Genealogical Society) -- Wikipedia's link doesn't work but I found the Pilgrim Village Family Sketch done by Anderson on American Ancestors and it actually says"

I just fixed the Wikipedia article; changed "Lockwood" to (Unknown) and gave the paragraph summary on her Longland connection, and gave the NEHGR citation for it.  The article originally had ______ but some derp had changed  ______ to Lockwood in November 2016, no discussion, no new references.  I'm guessing they misremembered the name Longland, but GEEZE.
