My passion for family history began when I was growing up and would hear stories of the many colorful characters in my family tree. I began to collect the research various family members had done when I did the Genealogy project in 4-H. I'm grateful for this work, since I was able to collect a lot of information from my relatives while they were still alive. However, I didn't have a lot of guidance on how to conduct research myself. Years later, I wanted to start to solve some of the mysteries that I didn't know from what had been handed on to me. I discovered FamilySearch, and I've been actively researching ever since, as well as trying to educate myself on the best practices of the genealogical community.

In addition to speaking and writing English, I also have studied French and Latin, both of which have been helpful in my research.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with K or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with K:

It's time for the One Place Studies Project Check-In!

We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.

If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.

Hi K

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. It normally takes 24 hours from adding a test, or adding a new ancestor, or ancestor’s descendant, for WikiTree to display your name and test results on your ancestors and their descendants’ profiles for potential cousins to compare results with.

Have fun!

Hi K,

Thank you for including your Henry county Community Study in the OPS Project. It is now all nested and ready for you, and your badge has been awarded :)

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me :)

Happy researching,

Wendy

Hi K,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.

It looks like the United States and England Projects would be good fits. Review the project pages to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

At the bottom of Sarah Prudden's profile there are three choices referring to merging profiles. You should be able to find a choice that lets you complete the merge that I initiated.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Do you have any sources/evidence for Sarah? I think that I copied her off someone's Ancestry entry.

Welcome, K Frazier, to the Frazier Name Study! I have added your name to the list of Project Members. Please feel free to add the Frazier Name Study Category to the profiles of your Frazier ancestors. There are other sub-projects which need attention and work. I am on a bit of a hiatus trying to break down my Frazier brick wall through DNA, but I will be available if you have any questions. Be sure and add Frazier to your list of g2g tags.

PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.
