Robyn was (as it states), born at The Poplars Private Hospital, Epping, NSW and taken home to 88 Holborrow Street, Ashfield initially to my Maternal Grandma's Ida Ethel Kerr's Place before going home to the Property at Wallacia. The Wallacia property "Bon-Gra-Joy" owned by my parents since 17/2/1938. My Dad purchased it from Mr Oag in late November,1937. A agricultural property of 52 acres on the banks of the Nepean River, split by Bent's Basin Road. The farm was a gentle slope from a triangle of Bushland down to the wider frontage on the Nepean River Banks. Over the next many years, it was a productive vegetable, maize growing, finally becoming an orange and peach orchard. The last of trees destroyed in the bushfire of 2001 which destroyed the Family home. My sister Joy who as a spinster continued the farm after Dad died( in 1984 ), single handed tried to rebuild it after the bushfire. I have three other siblings, Bonita Evelyn, Graham Leslie, and Heather Joy all older by some years, so I was the " Younger Kid"!( know as this all my life). I was schooled at Wallacia Public School then to Penrith High School where I completed 4th Year. Due to missing most of Late October, most of November and early December Due to Flooding on the Nepean River. Hans working for SEC in the Upper Kiewa Hydro Power Stations and Me working at Mt Beauty Hospital then Bright Bush Nursing Hospital. Our need for the children, a better education standard, In 1982, I moved them to Wodonga schools, working for the next 14 yrs, there till Hans took redundancy from the SEC and we moved in 1994, to a farm at Rutherglen.Victoria, Australia. In 1996, Hans had a job with NT Power in Darwin and requested I Join him. I worked at Royal Darwin Hospital in the Midwifery Section in all wards, NICU, General nursery, Birthing Suite and the Wards. Back in Darwin briefly 2001 after 9/11 and then Home to Rutherglen, Victoria After a brief 2 or so years at Wangaratta Base Hospital, and LEOP symptoms becoming more a problem . This year we are hoping to learn what our membership would like to accomplish over the next 12 months.
In case you aren't aware, this year is WikiTree's ""Year of Connections"" and the Project's leadership would like to contribute to this in as many ways as possible.
We would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts and ideas with us on how we can accomplish this goal. We would also appreciate it if you would provide some feedback on our existing goals, including:
We continue to communicate with our Project members via Google Group (official) and Discord (unofficial), as well as G2G. You may also reach out to any of the Project leaders via WikiTree's internal messaging system at any time.
Thank you for all you do to help the Scotland Project become a knowledge hub for Scottish genealogical research! We wish you all the best in 2022!
Sincerely, Amy Gilpin on behalf of the Scotland Project Leaders
It’s time for a Project check-in!
Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.
What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?
This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.
We'd love to have you join the Twisted Thistles in the upcoming Connect-a-thon the weekend of July 17 - July 20. If you'd like to join us and help to develop our ever-expanding Scottish tree, please register on the G2G post here and be sure to mention you'd like to be on the Twisted Thistles team for Scotland.
We also have our team Chat page posted here.

Pity about the USA and other countries when I have limited time, my heart bleeds that they can't follow the families , where children are born or where they are living! One needs to use some common sense along the way in Family history . I am not trying to be rude or stupid or sensitive and am supporting any members wanting help but find the attitude re corrections IS MORE a smarty pants- Brownie gathering points! Think again yourself it's nice to get a little friendly message on ones site. Sorry but it is not by far the first time. Ro
