Simon Plooijer bekend as Simon du Plooy: Afrikaans
PLOOIJER." Dit word aanvaar dat Pieter Pietersz Plooijer of selfs sy pa, Pieter Claesz van Neck ‘n borselmaker was. [1]

South Africa's Stamouers (http://www.stamouers.com/index.php/stamouers/d-g/148-du-plooy-simon) Many South Africans whose ancestors lived at the Cape are part of one big extended family. The custom of referring to seniors as "oom" or "tannie" is not just out of respect but in deed reflect the reality of the close familial bond and the small collective genetic pool. South African Stamouers / Progenitors came from Africa, Europe, Asia and other places. Some were VOC workers, free settlers, Huguenot, Slaves and Indigenous. During 2014 in conjunction with the 10th birthday of the eGGSA webpage a competition was launched for submissions of new Stamouers/Progenitors data for addition to this webpage. The decision was made to now include any Stamouer/Progenitor with a male descendant-line to the web page. If you would like to help with the 'development' of this new extended Stamouers/Progenitors web page please submit your article, here are some submission guidelines. Submissions whether English or Afrikaans, will be placed on the web page in the language of submission. Any corrections or additional data on posted 'Stamouers/Progenitors' articles are welcomed. N.B. We can't vouch for the accuracy of the information posted on this webpage and advise that the genealogical researcher verifies the data. Seen and entered by Ronel Oliver Aug 02, 2015.
"De Villiers & Parma" states that Simon du Plooy .. originally Simon Plooij... was an Immigrant from Krommenie, North Holland. in 1714. He could have arrived there earlier (at Krommenie) from Soest, Brandenburg- before emigrating to South Africa in 1714. (His name is written down in "Die Kaapse Resolusies", when he got permission to increase the size of his farm, near Stellenbosch, called "Kromme Rhee".)

Paternal line Y-chromosome DNA test-takers:
Plooijer-1 and Plooij-11 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicate - SV/PROG of the du Plooy family. Wives (Koopman/Coopman) have also been duplicated.
Du Plooy-248 and Plooijer-1 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicate. We take the earliest known primary record (mostly baptism record - exact spelling!) as spelling for each individual WikiTree profile (WIkiTree policy). I'll do the final integration of the bio after the merge, thanks!
Du Plooy-76 and Plooijer-1 appear to represent the same person because: Although place of birth differs this is a duplicate. I could find only one Simon du Plooy in Cape of Good Hope in 1699 (arrival date) and Pieter Simon * Nederland 1697 + 31-8-1767. (son of Simon * 1666) Thanks R
Du Plooy-76 and Plooijer-1 are not ready to be merged because: Esme
