Have you tried asking this in any of the German Genealogy groups? Facebook or Rootsweb?

I see familysearch has some records

Tried to find something on Facebook. Some are closed groups and the others are NY based. Mine are Baltimore, MD based . Prior to this, Sulzbch, Bayern/Bavaria Germany.

Just ask to join the closed groups of interest. I have found folk there to be very helpful
