Welcome to Little Team on the Prairie

For those who are new to Wikitree or haven't participated in a connect-a-thon before, we are always looking for folks to join our little team who are interested in genealogy in the six primary states Little Team On The Prairie focuses on: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

You can post questions, answers, encouragement, praise, and congratulations here for the team.

The Connect-A-Thon is my most favorite.  It give me a chance to add to my tree.  By always checking the "Relationships" to the profile.  I am truly amazed just how many people I am related to all over the world.

This is your Little Team on the Prairie Friday check-in.

  • What are you working on today?
  • Have a goal you'd like to share?
  • You can put in a guess for the total number of profiles added.
  • You can add a selfie to that G2G post, too.

Cheers!

I'm going to try to do two things today: create profiles for Korleski-5's siblings and try to connect Merle Hay to the big tree - he was one of the first American casualties in World War I and has several locations in Des Moines named for him, including the road that goes north from Des Moines toward Camp Dodge.

I am working on a WHITE family from South Dakota -- helping a lady who knows absolutely nothing about her grandfather's heritage.

Still working on the Korleski line - got sidetracked on some of the in-laws. Darn those rabbits!

I'm doing something different this time. My great grand uncle, Frank Miller was born in Grayson County, Texas in 1905. He was murdered in 1926 in Oklahoma. I found a photo in my grandfather's belongings of my uncle and his school friends. Frank had actually written the names of all of his friends on the back of the photo. I am adding all of his friends to Wiki Tree for this competition. Every single one of them has to start out as a unconnected person. I keep adding family members until I reach someone who is connected to the main tree. After that, I moved to the next friend.
